Band Camp Shout Out!

2018 CHHS Band Camp is officially over.  The kids and staff put in grueling hours, braved the heat (and smoke), and beat exhaustion to achieve their goals this week.

Shout out to:
  • Our kids.  For the most part, they pushed through the pain (a couple with boots on even), worked through their differences, and learned to work together as a team.   They are learning that hard work does not kill them and they can do anything they put their minds to.
  • Mr. Matthews and the MMG Staff.  They were there with our kids from the beginning to the end.  A few have other jobs, but were with the band during their precious free time.  For all intents and purposes, they are like second parents to our children--they listen to their woes, discipline them when it is needed, and love them (almost as much as we do).
  • Our parents.  Thank you for supporting your children in this crazy band thing.  Thank you for encouraging them to keep going even when they're discouraged.  Thank you for believing in them and this program.  Thank you for donating and serving food this week.  (Thanks to Christie and Margaret for organizing it all.)  Our awesome parents truly make the MMG a special group to belong to.
I can't wait to see how this season shapes up.  This band has great potential to show the doubters that Copper Hills is coming up.  We're bigger and stronger and can only keep improving.

Go get 'em MMG!
