July 4 Parades West Jordan and Sandy

We have two parades coming up next week on Thursday, July 4th.  West Jordan City is in the morning and Sandy City is in the late afternoon/evening.  Band students please wear your blue band shirt, tan shorts, black socks and black tennis shoes or marching shoes.  Color Guard students please wear your blue band shirt, tan shorts, and white socks and shoes.  Parents who are attending please wear your Band Parent shirts.  Everyone come prepared for the heat.

Before the WJ parade starts, our band has been asked to play music for the flag ceremony led by the mayor.  The opening ceremony starts between 9-9:30am.  It will be held in the parking lot at 7046 S. Redwood Rd.  The West Jordan parade starts at 10:30am and call time for our band will be at 8:30am at the parade band staging area behind the Chevron at 7000 S and Redwood RdCarpools and Volunteers please meet at CHHS at 8:00am.  Volunteers please wear your Band Parent shirts.
The Sandy Parade starts at 6pm and call time for us will be at 5:00pm at the Sandy City Center building.  Carpools please meet at CHHS at 4:30pm.  Volunteers please wear your Band Parent shirts.
West Jordan route - Parade runs south on Redwood Road from 7000 South to 7800 South, where it turns west and runs down 7800 South until 2200 West.   Check out this link for more info: http://www.westernstampede.com/Parade.aspx   We are number 46 in this parade (around the middle).

Marching Shoes and Shoe Insole Orders

Mr. Simpson started taking orders for Marching Shoes for those who wanted them today.  The cost is $35 (with checks made out to CHHS).  We will do another order at Fall Marching Band Camp in August.  So there will be another time to get them later.

Also today, they were shown Shoe Insoles which are offered by a salesman who does this for us each year.  If you wish to purchase them they are:
  • 1 pair of insoles are $35.00 if paying by check or $33.00 if paying with cash.  (Regularly $39.95)
  • Make checks out to Bruce Woodward.

Band Parent shirts are here!

For those of you who already ordered and paid for band parent shirts we have them and will begin passing them out at the fireworks stand anytime on Friday.  Those who are volunteering for Saturday's parade, please come and get your shirt before you go.   We will also bring them on Saturday morning, if you cannot make it to the fireworks stand.

For those of you who didn't get a shirt this time, don't despair.  We will have another time to order them before the fall competition season starts.

Second fee due date is TODAY! June 26

This is a reminder that the second payment due date for Marching Band and Color Guard is here.  All summer fees must be paid in full by today Wednesday, June 26th.  Online payments through Skyward are only useable for current high school students.  For middle school  or Kearns High students, please pay in the CHHS main office.  If paying in the office, please email copperhillsbandboosters@gmail.com with your student's name, payment amount and receipt number (or you can put a copy of receipt and fee form in the band room box).  Thank you!

Taylorsville Parade June 29

We have our next parade coming up this Saturday, June 29th.  Band students please wear your blue band shirt, tan shorts, black socks and black tennis shoes or marching shoes.  Color Guard students please wear your blue band shirt, tan shorts, and white socks and shoes.  Everyone come prepared for the heat.

The parade starts at 9am and call time for our band will be at 7:30am at the parade staging area at the parking lot in front of Leatherby’s Ice Cream (5400 South and Redwood Rd). 
Parents who are attending please wear your old Band Parent shirts or CHHS school colors (Blue and Green).  The New Band Parent shirts will be in this weekend, but we don’t know if we will have them for the parade or not.  We will keep you updated on that.  
 
Carpools and Volunteers please meet at CHHS at 7:15am.  All Volunteers please remember to wear good shoes and Band Parent shirts or CHHS colors (blue & green).

Parade Volunteers

We have added a signup sheet for parade volunteers onto our webpage.  Please look at the tab at the top of this page that reads Volunteering.  There you will find a link to the signup sheet.  Please look and find a time you can help us out.  The students need helpers to walk the parades with them and give them water.  Also we need carpool volunteers as well.  Thank you for all of your support!  We couldn't do this without the help and support of all of you!

Fireworks signups - we need workers!

Please come join us to work in our TNT fireworks stand.  As of today you may sign up for any shifts that you wish.  We especially need help with the overnight shifts.  This is a great way to earn money to help pay your band fees.  Please go to the Fundraising tab at the top of this webpage to find the signup sheets.  Thank you!

Fireworks Shift Signups!

Here is your opportunity to make money for your band accounts.  The dates our stand will be open are June 28th – July 4th  and July 20th – July 24th.  The stand will be located in the Neighborhood Wal-mart parking lot on the corner of 9800 South and Bangerter Hwy (across the street from Elk Ridge Middle School).  We will need to have the tent manned 24 hours a day during the days we are open.  Volunteers will also be welcome to bring snacks to the fireworks tent anytime.

To sign up for shifts, click on the Fundraising tab at the top of this webpage.  There will be a link for fireworks signups there.  Any family members are welcome to help and slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  We need adults and kids alike.  (18 yrs and older is considered an adult)  Only adults can make the sales and handle the aerial fireworks, but kids (13+ yrs old) can help customers choose merchandise and be sign shakers.  You may sign up twice for each student in your family.

The proceeds from this fundraiser will be divided amongst those that participate.  Parents can earn proceeds toward their student’s account.  We will also have a % that will go to the band general fund.

I neglected to put the parades and practices on the fireworks schedule.  I've updated it now.  Please double check that you have not signed a student up during these events.  Parents and siblings may work the fireworks stand in place of the student if needed.  Thank you!

Band Booster Meeting June 13

Come join us for our next Band Booster meeting on June 13 at 6:30pm in the CHHS Band room!  We will be discussing upcoming parades and events, fireworks fundraiser, uniforms for fall, etc.  We will be collecting money for new band parent shirts as well.  We need everyone's help to make our band program great and hope to see you there! 

South Jordan Parade June 15


2013 Parade season has started!  We have our first parade coming up this Saturday, June 15th.  Band Students please wear your blue summer shirts (which you will get at Thurs practice), tan shorts, black socks and black tennis shoes or marching shoes and bring your water bottles and backpacks.  Color Guard students please wear your blue summer shirts, tan shorts, white socks, good tennis shoes and bring your water bottles and backpacks too.

The parade starts at 9am and call time for our band will be 8:30am at the parade band staging area located in the Salt Lake Country Equestrian Park Dirt Lot (2200 West and 10800 South)All students will need to be at the parade staging area by 8:30am.  We are trying to organize some carpools to get people over there.  If you need a ride, or want to help give rides to students, please meet at CHHS at 7:45am. 

Parents who are attending please wear your old Band Parent shirts or CHHS school colors (Blue and Green).  The New Band Parent shirts can be preordered by emailing us at copperhillsbandboosters@gmail.com.  See our blog website for more info on the shirts.  We will be collecting money for the parent shirts at our Thursday, June 13 Booster meeting at 6:30pm.  Everyone come prepared for the heat.

NEW Band Parent Shirts


We are going to offer NEW Band Parent shirts this year.  They are dark navy blue polo shirts with the music note CH embroidered in gray on the right front of the shirt. (see below for design)  The cost is $17 per shirt.  We are taking preorders for them now.  You may email us back at copperhillsbandboosters@gmail.com with your order and we will collect money at our Booster meeting next week on Thursday, June 13 at 6:30pm.  We will place the order right after the meeting, so you should have them in time for the second parade.  If you plan on volunteering this summer or fall, we would appreciate it if you had a shirt.  Especially if you are marching in the parades or going to help take equipment onto the field for competitions, you will need this shirt.  We are excited to offer a new design and look forward to seeing you all dressed in CHHS pride!

I neglected to put sizes available before.  For the $17 cost, we have mens sizes S-XL.  For 2XL it will be $2 more, and for 3XL $3 more.  I am sorry about forgetting to mention the sizes and pricing earlier.
